Welcome to St. Goar!
St. Goar, city of hospitality
Our city bears the name of St. Goar, who built a hermitage, a chapel and a hospice just below the dangerous rapids. He took care of travellers and sick people and fed the poor. Then and now, it was said: “Don‘t miss St. Goar, a city that has always been hospitable.“
Important cultural historical sights are the Protestant collegiate church, the Catholic parish church of St. Goar and our museums. Stroll through the narrow lanes with centuries-old houses and sample the multi-faceted culinary range on offer.
Enjoy our festivals. Choose among the Hanse festival, folk and shooting club festival or castle festival – drink and celebrate with us!
Our tourist office in St. Goar has plenty of information for you:
Maps and route suggestions for hiking and cycling, brochures about attractions, catering and accommodation, travel guides and other books on the middle Rhine valley.
